Yes, it's been hot! But there seems to always be a breeze, and after a day at the beach, or working in the yard, there is nothing that seems to satisfy like ice cream. Those who know me, know that I am, and have been for some time, an ice cream aficionado. Every place that I have lived, and every time I go on vacation, I always seek out a really great place for ice cream,
On a recent trip to Sanibel Island, I found a wonderful place with Key Lime Frozen yogurt. Not Sherbet, but Frozen Yogurt. I biked ten miles for a cup of that sweet and sour treat.
So here at home, I am always looking for a great ice cream place. I'll share my current top four:
Addie's Ice Cream--2543 Sunnyside Rd, Findley Lake, NY. The drive out here just seems to relax my soul. The views are beautiful, bucolic, and peaceful..and then you get to the lake! They have 40 flavors of home made ice cream, different all the time. This is the view on the way there!
Connie's Ice Cream--3304 Liberty St, Erie
When a trip to Peach Street ends up with more traffic and hassle than I bargained for, I reward myself here...usually with a hot fudge sundae.
L&M---Buffalo Rd, Harborcreek
I know, they don't make their own ice cream. But where else can you get Parkerhouse--a flavor with amaretto and maraschino cherries?
Boston Bean Cafe--North East
Last year they started making their own ice cream. It's REALLY close to the inn, I mean DANGEROUSLY close. Yum!
Let me know if you find any others.....
